ROAR is a community-based 501(3)(c) charity located in Lexington, SC dedicated to young children in reading recovery

There is great statistical and well-researched evidence that children who have books in the home stay in school longer and perform better on standardized tests.

ROAR provides an in-class reading experience that involves the entire class. We have fun reading!

The children are given their own new books to take home and encouraged to share it with their friends and family.​

We may also bring snacks and small toys related to the story, and we might dance or sing, but we always make a LOUD roar together.
Our commitment lies in raising awareness about the importance of reading and providing access to starting a home library, ultimately fostering a love for reading and learning in young minds.
